Are Regional Payment Systems Effective for Making Global Transactions?

Yolanda Kelley, Vice President and Product Manager for International Payment Services, BNY Mellon Treasury Services

As the industry actively evolves its methods of facilitating payments, financial service providers and practitioners are increasingly looking for ways to make international payments cheaper and faster. Wire payments have traditionally met the high-value, global payment needs of corporates. But as costs for these transactions continue to grow, companies are turning to regional payment systems (e.g., ACH) for their international payment needs as an increasingly attractive option.

Andrew Haskell is a Senior Product Manager at BNY Mellon for USD Clearing

Product Management.  In his current role, Andrew is responsible for strategy and

development of USD Immediate Payment solutions such as Real-Time Payments

and Tokenized Payments with ZelleSM.

Prior to joining BNY Mellon, Andrew was a Senior Product Manager within Capital One’s Commercial Bank managing a wide range of payables and receivables products, most recently acting as the Head of Global Clearing, responsible for Wire Transfer with a focus on Domestic and International USD Clearing, FX, Nostro Account Management and Correspondent Bank relationships.  Andrew also has prior experience in Product working for Fundtech Limited (now D+H) in their cash management Professional Services Group.

Andrew holds a Master of Business Administration with a finance concentration (MBA), a Master of Science in finance with an Investments Specialization (MS-FI) and a Bachelor of Business Administration with a minor in managerial sciences (BBA), all from Georgia State University in Atlanta, GA. Andrew is a Certified Treasury Professional® (CTP®) and Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO). His education continues by attending workshops such as NACHA's The Payments Institute and industry conferences including the BAFT Annual Global Payments Symposium.
