Improve Working Capital with Supply Chain Finance (I)

Session Description

In recent years, treasury teams have been tasked with improving working capital management strategies in an effort to meet board and external financial targets. This session will present how treasury teams are taking responsibility for optimizing liquidity through supplier financing programs and collaborating internally to reduce risk in their organization's supply chain. Specific topics include:

  • Why should treasury care about supply chain finance?
  • Determining the best working capital program for your liquidity scenario
  • The business case for supplier financing programs
  • DPO strategies to improve free cash flow
  • Improving productivity between treasury, A/P, and supplier teams.


Speaker Information

Mark Ferguson is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Innervation Finance Group. He is an investment banking and structured products professional with 30 years of experience in the financial services industry. Prior to launching Innervation Finance, Mark was a Managing Director in the Global Investment Banking Group at JP Morgan providing coverage to middle-market companies. Prior to JPMorgan, Mark led the lower-middle market advisory firm, Harbourview Capital Management and was Head of the Exotic Products business of ABN AMRO.


Mark purchased and ran the American Can & Spool Company, the original manufacturer of the metal Band-Aid box after Bankers Trust was sold to Deutsche Bank, where he was head of BTs structured note business. 


Mark is a graduate of the Stern School of Business at New York University with a BSc in Finance and International Business.


Gregory Person has been a finance and treasury practitioner for 16+ years, with extensive experience in global treasury operations including U.S. and international cash management and strategic cash flow forecasting – working with large multinational corporate treasury departments. Over his career, Gregory has held positions with Microsoft, EMC Corporation, Boston Scientific and Wall Street Systems, and recently joined Kyriba to lead its global presales organization. 


He holds Bachelor of Science degrees in Finance and Philosophy from Northeastern University and is a Certified Treasury Professional (CTP).
